6 must renew the mind to become “a new creation” in Christ
6 = ∞ = Die to self daily, Crucify the flesh
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5.17
“I die daily”
I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
1 Corinthians 15.31
Crucify the flesh
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [g] gentleness (meekness), self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5.22
“put to death the deeds of the body” (works of the flesh)
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 8.13
Jesus “laid down His life for us”
We should “lay down our lives” for the brethren by love in action, “in deed and in truth”
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall our hearts before Him.
1 John 3.16-19
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
John 15.12-14
You must “die” to yourself to be “fruitful”
The wheat must be “buried” (“die”) in the ground in order to produce a fruitful harvest
If you serve Jesus, follow Him & God will honor you
Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much [d] grain (fruit). 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My father will honor.
John 12.24
