Jesus is “King of kings”

He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those
who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.

Kings + priests in Christ shall rule and reign with Him on the earth

And have made us kings and priests to our God;
and we shall reign on the earth.

“a royal priesthood”

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, God’s special possession
1 Peter 2.9

Kings reign over land (today it’s the mind)
Priests reign over the temple of God
(today it’s the body)

Kings + priests should glorify God in their mind and body
Their “body is the temple of the Holy Spirit” who is in them

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

For a throne is established by righteousness.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings,
And they love him who speaks what is right.

And his favor is like a cloud of the latter rain.

Kings should rule with a “rod of iron” to maintain justice and righteousness

The people should “measure up” to the kings rule of ironclad standards

You shall [h] break (rule) them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Psalm 2.9

Jesus will rule with a “rod of iron” in the new millennium

And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron.

The king establishes the land by justice,
But he who receives bribes overthrows it.
