With God All Things Are Possible
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 19.23-24

A camel is like “a rich man”

“the eye of a needle” = “the kingdom of God”

“The
eye of a needle” is at the very top of a needle and is a narrow slit

For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55.9

Go “higher” (in spirit) to “find” “the kingdom of God”

“there are few who find it”

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and [d] difficult (confined) is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Matthew 7.13-14

“confined” = very small

Enter ye in at
the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7.13-14 KJV

if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct [behavior], the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4.21-22

Renew your mind…

Living Sacrifices to God
I beseech[a] (urge) you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your [b]reasonable (rational) service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12.1-2

“with the washing of water by the word”

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might [g]sanctify (set it apart) and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Ephesians 5.25-27

Many rich (even poor) people become
emotionally attached to their possessions

*Don’t let your possessions “possess” you

*When you worry or think about your possessions, it takes up and “possesses” your mental real estate

POSSESS
Synonyms
command, enjoy, have, hold, own, retain

Instead, “hold” onto “the word”

holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
Philippians 2.16

This is why it becomes very difficult for a rich man to enter “the kingdom of God”

“The kingdom of God is within you”

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is [g] within (in your midst) you.”
Luke 17.20-21

Instructions to the rich

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
1 Timothy 6.17

And again: “I will put My trust in Him.”
Hebrews 2.13

who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
1 Peter 1.21

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5.5

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15.13

Put your trust in God, not in money

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6.10

Therefore a rich man may never look to (trust in) God, but to his money over God
And so money can become his “god”

Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
Luke 16.11

“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Luke 16.13

Those who trust in their riches will fall,
but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
Proverbs 11:28

Be mindful of heavenly things

A rich man who is attached to his possessions has his mind on “earthly things” not “heavenly things”

For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame–who set their mind on earthly things.
Philippians 3.18-19

If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
John 3.12

A rich man who “treasures” his possessions and money
“treasures” (loves) them in his heart

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6.21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Luke 12.34

*When your mind is on “earthly things” it is because your heart “treasures” “earthly things”

Heart > Mind > Mouth > Actions
Emotions > Thoughts > Words > Actions

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good
; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6.45

Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying
Deuteronomy 15.9

We are commanded to “not love the world or anything in the world”

“If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them”

On Not Loving the World
Do not love the world or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–
comes not from the Father but from the world.
17 The world and its desires pass away,
but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2.15-17

Put your trust in and
lean on the Lord only

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [b] direct (make smooth or straight) your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your [c] flesh (navel),
And strength[d] (drink) to your bones.
Proverbs 3.5-8

The unseen is eternal

Seeing the Invisible
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4.16

“lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven”

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6.19-21

Only those who do God’s will “shall enter the kingdom of heaven”

With God All Things Are Possible
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 19.23-24

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7.21

Prayer

Dear God,

I want to put my trust in You alone and not in what money can do or buy for me. I want to focus on the unseen, which is eternal. I want to “lay up treasures in heaven” and not here on earth. And I want to do “the will of God” in my life
Please help me and guide me
Thank You. In Jesus’ name Amen

The sky and the earth won’t last forever, but my words will.
Matthew 24.35 CEV

The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2.17
