The First Step To Become A Wise Virgin

Five of them were foolish and five were wise.
Matthew 25.2

“The time has come,” he said.
“The kingdom of God has come near
repent and
believe the good news!
Mark 1.15

1. “‘You must be born again'”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John 3.3

Confess & Believe

Confess your sins to God and He will forgive you of your sins

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
1 John 1.8-10

confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”

Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.
13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10.9-11, 13

Everyone is guilty of sin

There is none righteous, no, not one
Romans 3.10

Everyone must repent

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 3.23

2. Be committed to Christ

It’s a relationship, not a religion

For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
2 Corinthians 11.1 ESV

For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
2 Corinthians 11.1

betrothed
: engaged to be married

Be “committed” to Jesus’ teachings only (not any other false religion)

“Engage” in conversation with Jesus

Talk to Him and get to know Him through the Word

God can speak to you through His Word and/or in your spirit

3. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
Proverbs 9.10

Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
Psalm 34.11-14

Repent > Changed Life

You must prove your repentance by a changed life.
Matthew 3.8

that they must repent and turn to God and demonstrate it with a changed life.
Acts 26.20 TPT

submit
to God”

Resist the devil and he will flee from you”

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord , and He will lift you up”

Humility Cures Worldliness
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
James 4.7-10

Repent to Maintain Salvation

After I strayed, I repented; after I came to understand
Jeremiah 31.19 NIV

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Philippians 2.12-13

“Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
Ezekiel 18.30 NIV

2 Corinthians 7.10

Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
Romans 2.4

Repent > Be Restored > Serve God

Therefore this is what the Lord says: “If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them.
Jeremiah 15.19 NIV

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15.7

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3.9

For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!
Ezekiel 18.32 NIV

We Are Being Saved Daily Through Daily Repentance

Being saved is a daily process
We must “turn away” (repent) from our fleshly desires (sins)

2 Groups:
1 Those who are being saved (on the narrow path to heaven)
2 Those who are perishing
(on the way to hell)

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
2 Corinthians 2:1

praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Acts 2:47

[ Christ the Power and Wisdom of God ] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18

He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16.16

It's time to get saved

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I repent of all of my sins (known and unknown).
I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again in all power and authority over satan.

I want to live in victory.
I invite Jesus into my heart to rule and reign in me so that I may rule and reign with You now.

I receive the Holy Spirit as You promised to guide me, teach me, counsel me and comfort me.

But the [g] Helper (Comforter, Gr. Parakletos), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 14.26

Jesus Promises Another Helper
If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
John 14.15-18

I give You full control of my life, so I may live the destiny You planned for me before I was born.
You are the author (originator) and finisher (perfector) of our faith.”

The Race of Faith
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the [a] author (originator) and [b] finisher (perfector) of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12.1-2

Your ways are higher and You know what’s best for me because you created me.
I trust You and “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God.”

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8.28

Thank You for Your free gift of salvation and eternal life.
In Jesus’ name Amen.
