The 144k may be the overcomers from within the faithful church in Philadelphia

[To the faithful church in Philadelphia]:

He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more.

Revelation 3.12

‘The beast’ will “overcome them, and kill them”

When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.

Revelation 11.7

OBEY COMMAND TO LOVE

Believers are Jesus’ “friends” if they do whatever He commands them

You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

John 15.14

Jesus commands” us to “love one another” as He loved us

Believers are Jesus’ disciples if they “have love for one another”

A new commandment
I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

John 13.34-35

Jesus overcame the world by obeying His own command to “love one another”

Jesus loved His enemies by asking God to “forgive them” and dying for their sins

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

Luke 23.34

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not [b] puffed up (arrogant); 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, [c] thinks no evil (keeps no account of evil); 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13.4-8

COMMANDMENT TO BELIEVE & LOVE

“His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another”

And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

1 John 3.23

“he who keeps His commandments abides in Him”

The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

1 John 3.24

FAITH & BELIEF = VICTORY

The 144k’s faith is the victory that has overcome the world”

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.”

“who were born…of God”

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e] right (authority) to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1.12-13

“And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our (your) faith.”

Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

Obedience by Faith

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—[a] our (your) faith.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5.1-5

The 144k are physically “overcome” by the beast in Revelation 11.7 because they [do] not love their lives to the death.”

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Revelation 12.11

But their “faith” and “belief” in Jesus is “the [spiritual] victory” “that has overcome the world”

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them
, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world
.

1 John 4.4

SPIRITUAL STRENGTH

The 144k are spiritually strong because “the word of God abides in [them]”

“Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you”

The word of God that lives in you (abides) is the “strength” that “overcomes the wicked one”

I write to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
Because you have overcome the wicked one.
I write to you, little children,
Because you have known the Father.

14 I have written to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I have written to you, young men,
Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,
And
you have overcome the wicked one.

1 John 2.13-14

Physically, it appears that the Pharisees “overcame” Jesus by crucifying Him on the cross

Spiritually, however, Jesus surrendered His life out of His own will and “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter”

The place in the Scripture which he read was this:
He was led as
a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.

Acts 8.32

Jesus had “power” to “lay down” His life and “power to take it again”

No one took His life from Him, but He had “power to lay it down”

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

John 10.17-18

The two witnesses will be physically overcome and killed by “the beast” in Revelation 11

When they finish their testimony,
the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.
Revelation 11.7

Spiritually
, however, they are overcomers because their faith “is the victory”

For
whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—[a] our (your) faith.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 John 5.4

So they will “overcome” the beast (evil) with good by not resisting

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Revelation 2.10

Jesus told us not to resist an evil person (do not fight back)

Fighting back (hating) is not obeying His command to love

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

Matthew 5.38-39

“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

works of the flesh…adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like”

Walking in the Spirit
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like
Galatians 5.16

“Whoever hates his brother is a murderer”

In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren.

He who does not love his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

1 John 3.10, 13-15

Strong’s Concordance (Greek)

Romans 8.14

“we know love because He laid down His life for us

“And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren”

“let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”

The Outworking of Love

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

1 John 3.16-18

GOD IS OUR AVENGER

“Do not repay anyone evil for evil”

“Do not take revenge”
“but leave room for God’s wrath”
“’It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for Gods wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;

if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12.17-21

“not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing,”

“that you may inherit a blessing.”

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be [b] courteous (humble); 9
not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
1 Peter 3.8-9

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

1 “love
your enemies”

2 “bless those who curse you”

3 “do good to those who hate you”

4 “pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you”

“that you may be sons of your Father in heaven”

“F
or if you love those who love you, what reward have you?”

Love Your Enemies
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your [p] brethren (friends) only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the [q] tax collectors (Gentiles) do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5.43-48

JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED

This justifies God’s wrath (7 bowls of wrath of God = “the third woe”) that follows the two witnesses death and resurrection in Revelation 11

“for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God

God’s Final Judgment And Glory

so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.

2 Thessalonians 1.4-10

The Witnesses Resurrected

11 Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.

14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.

Seventh Trumpet: The Kingdom Proclaimed

15 Then the seventh angel sounded

Revelation 11.11, 14-15

When Jesussuffered, He did not threaten”

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten

1 Peter 2.23

Jesus said, I have overcome the world”

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

John 16.33

Jesus said “He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much [d] grain (fruit). 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

John 12.24

“Do not love the world or the things in the world
.”

“If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him”

“but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

Do Not Love the World

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
